The possibility of accidents and emergencies occurring in the community is always present.
With this in mind, a symposium on First Aid and Basic Life Support was held last August 26, 2007 at the Mother Alessandra Sala Hall. In attendance were members of the MDPS Community and Student Body Organization (SBO) officers.
Ednie Dula, RN, Liaison Officer and Lead Trainor of the Marikina City Health Office - Rescue 161, was the event’s guest speaker. He was assisted by Arnel Condicion, Emergency Medical Technician and First Aid Responder from the same unit.
A Powerpoint® presentation showing different kinds of injuries and the proper treatment was shown. The speakers also demonstrated the correct administration of Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) using a dummy.
The activity was organized by Health Services Officer/School Nurse Mrs. Helen Bautista and School Physician Dr. Lorma Jeanne Dela Cruz.
